Methodology for Audit:

IDENTIFY
Interviews with Development staff are first conducted to gain a full
understanding of the organization’s fundraising programs and goals. With
this understanding, a thorough assessment of the current coding schema in
the Raiser’s Edge is performed. We uncover any code redundancies and
inconsistencies that hinder reporting efforts and create labor intensive
processes. New coding necessary to meet the needs of the fundraising
programs is identified after research and testing. General areas in which the
database is underutilized are also highlighted.

PLAN
A clear plan in the form of a matrix is created to guide the organization on
how to implement the changes recommended in the audit. The steps to
clean up existing codes are outlined and may consist of global changes,
global deletions, inactivation of codes and sometimes manual review and
cleanup depending on the health/source of the data. A detailed listing of the
necessary new codes is also provided.

IMPLEMENT
The recommendations from the audit will be implemented via remote access
using the Admin and Config modules of the Raiser’s Edge. We work closely
with the IT team in order to perform a series of backups of the system at
key points during the implementation. Users may experience minimal
downtime during this process.

CREATE CUSTOM REPORTS
Custom reports (Crystal Reports) are built using the new and improved
coding schema. These reports are designed to provide fundraisers with
meaningful data which will allow them to build effective moves management
strategies.

SUPPORT
Classroom training sessions are provided to support the organization with
the clean-up plan and teach newly implemented protocols. Refreshers for all
areas of the system are also offered. All trainings are tailored to the needs
of the users.
